Donguri

2024
Made as part of the "Another Life" residency mask series, this piece was created using found objects during a one month period in Shiroishi Japan.
This piece features acorn caps, and brushed hemp cord glued to a mask base made from cardboard.

Kami Kami

2025
This piece features party confetti, sewn and strung like beads, glued to a handmade cardboard mask base. It includes paper quilling details and button eyes

2024
This mask features and cardboard base, hand sewn fabric, and bead elements. It features beaded eyes and is wearable.

Look What I Found

2024
Made as part of the "Another Life" residency mask series, this piece was created using found objects during a one month period in Shiroishi Japan.
This mask feautres a hand made cardboard base, recycled kimono fabric and small plastic pockets, showcasing various found natural objects.

Tree Spirit

2026
This mask features a handmade cardboard base, sewn button eyes and cheeks, beaded eyebrows and various glued elements. It is wearable.

Ao Mask - 1 and 2

2024
Made as part of the "Another Life" residency mask series, these twin pieces were created using found objects during a one month period in Shiroishi Japan.
They are minuture in scale, build on top of tea saucers, and are made to hang upon the wall. They feature second hand painted ceramics, and hand made washii paper.

Sabishii Project

This project follows the "Sabishii" mask (a word meaning: "Lonely" in Japanese,) across a series of landscapes, playing with the concept of loneliness.
What does it mean to be alone in the wild? in a crowd?

The tongue reads:
みんなさんはどこに行きましたか
mina-san wa doko ni ikimashita ka?

And translates to:
"Where did everyone go?"
